Welcome to Comis Stud!
We're a Bedford-based rattery run by Jem & Michele Quarry. Since getting our first pair of bucks in 2005 our love of rats has grown and we really do believe that they're some of the best pets you can own. During our rat-keeping time we have owned many rescue rats and have come to see what indiscriminate breeding can lead to - and that these amazing animals deserve a lot better. Therefore our primary goals in breeding are to improve health and longevity while maintaining great pet temperaments. We have sometimes been lucky enough to be able to select for good show confirmation in addition to these qualities, but that's a bonus rather than a priority.
Comis is an NFRS-registered Stud; we were very lucky to earn our stud name in the Summer of 08 when our russian blue agouti girl Popeyes won Best Opposite Age twice as a kitten.
I (Jem) am a member of the CRC, NFRS and FREC and am in the middle of completing my judges' training as I tend to want to know everything about everything!
At the moment we are breeding for silver fawn and russian dove/dove agouti
